ControlLogix 5580 Controllers

The ControlLogix 5580 controller platform provides high performance programmable automation control for large scale industrial automation, motion control, process applications, and high speed manufacturing systems. Designed for modern integrated architectures, the 5580 series delivers increased processing performance, enhanced security features, and high speed communications for demanding industrial environments.

The 5580 controller family supports standard, safety, process, and redundancy applications with integrated EtherNet/IP communications, onboard USB connectivity, and support for advanced motion, I/O, and distributed control architectures. The platform is designed for use with 1756 ControlLogix chassis systems and distributed industrial Ethernet networks.

ControlLogix 5580 controllers support up to 45 MB user memory, integrated 1 Gb Ethernet ports on selected models, CIP Security capability, and high availability system configurations. The platform also supports large scale motion applications with synchronization capability for up to 256 motion axes depending on controller model selection. 

Available controller models include standard controllers, GuardLogix safety controllers, Process controllers, and extreme environment XT variants designed for harsh industrial conditions. The platform supports Studio 5000 Logix Designer software and integrated system diagnostics for simplified engineering and maintenance.
