Understanding the differences between the models with K and the ones without K

Products with a conformal coating (adds a layer of protection when exposed to harsh, corrosive Environments) have a ‘K’ suffix at the end of the catalogue number. Tend to take longer to get if available, but electronically/functionally exactly the same.

We have acquired some training aids that have 1769-L16ER-BB1B controllers in the product. Is there an education license/free version available for either or both of these applications?

Yes, the CompactLogix Series uses the Studio 5000 software and unfortunately Rockwell doesn’t have Educational versions Software is sold directly from Rockwell through their online portal (requires account setup)

I am planning to use the S7=1212C for an automation task. Just confirming that the unit supports four PWM output ports?

Yes, the 1212C supports PWM (I believe its 4 max)

Siemens can get a bit funny about software matching firmware, best bet would be with version 17 as it should be able to download to even the latest PLC firmware

2711P-T7C21D8S Has 1 Ethernet Port, 2711P-T7C22D8S has 2 Ethernet Ports, all other features are the same
